Dot NAME Domains

Started in 2001, the .NAME universal domain name extension is the only one planned for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. At the beginning, just 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to acquire john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level names remained functional.

Through our company, you can acquire your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer code from the current registrar and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been done. There are no special rules on who can secure a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
